Quezon City, Philippines, October xx, 2025 – Sourcefit, a global leader in strategic outsourcing and workforce solutions, once again put its commitment to sustainability in action with its annual tree-planting CSR activity called Soilmate. In partnership with the Million Trees Foundation, Inc., Sourcefit volunteers trekked to the La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City, Philippines to plant saplings in support of the rehabilitation efforts for this critical watershed.
Since 2022, Sourcefit has been participating in reforestation initiatives around the country that prevent erosion, preserve biodiversity, and help clean the air. Soilmate 2025 focused on the La Mesa watershed, which is considered the only remaining large forest in the National Capital Region and the primary source of potable water for the residents of Metro Manila, where two of Sourcefit’s four Philippine operations centers are located.
“Tree planting is very important for us at Sourcefit. It’s one of the core pillars of our sustainability initiative, along with education and food security. So even if there are questions about the value of making sustainability a priority, that only makes us work harder – as individuals and as an organization – to do what we can to give back to our community. Even one tree can make a difference.”
Andy Schachtel, Sourcefit’s Founder and CEO
The Million Trees Foundation is the nonprofit partner of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System in its Annual Million Trees Challenge activities. Since 2017, it has been working with the public and private sectors to plant a million trees annually in critical watersheds nationwide to preserve and restore these areas’ ecosystem functions. For Soilmate 2025, it provided the indigenous saplings and conducted a briefing session on the proper handling and planting of the saplings for the Sourcefit volunteers.
“Long-term partnerships [like the one with Sourcefit] matter. Trees need time and care, and continued support helps them thrive. It’s how we ensure lasting impact, protecting communities from climate change, and leaving a legacy for future generations.”
Amy Granda, Million Trees Foundation, Inc.
In its eight years of operation, the Million Trees Foundation has planted more than 10 million trees with the help of its partner organizations and has expanded its rehabilitation and restoration efforts to include green zones and parks in metropolitan areas. As it looks to plant 15 million trees by 2030, Sourcefit stands as a committed private sector partner, sharing in the Foundation’s mission to nurture a greener, healthier Philippines for the generations to come.
